  Fact : 1 We live in the 21st Century Fact : 2 Why do we tolerate Religions of yesteryear that dominate ,interfere with our progress

  why in this 21st century are we still cow towing to religions that are based in the distant past, of thousands of years ago , whether it be christian islam or whatever.?

  and not to restrict it to just those two , but all ancient religions.. all of them are hypocritical , on the one hand rejecting modern day society and it`s technology and on the other hand embracing it for their own advantage .. when is the human race ever going to rid itself of pie in the sky beliefs.?.

  the internet is doing a good job of ridding us of superstition and bad religions. Be patient, it's a slow process. But it is certainly moving in the right direction at speeds never seen before. Forums like this show the vulnerability and weaknesses of religion.

  great news!.

  we are free!.

  as of the 9th of june, me and my dear wife mrs. eden handed over our letters of disassociation at bethel in portugal, thus making official our departure from the jehovah's witnesses.

  Congratulation on your family's decision to let go of 8 million conditional friends. You just officially entered into the world where "friendships and brotherhoods" are not instantaneous, but, once you get them, they are long lasting and will be with you through thick and thin regardless of your personal beliefs in a deity.

  By the way, my JW wife and daughter and my non-JW son are going to be in Lisbon tomorrow (almost today for you). They are in a tour through Spain, Morocco, Portugal, Spain. If I had been with them, I would have searched for your family to give you a big hug.

  I will save it for next time. May be in the U.S. or in Portugal.

  I don't know about the 1940's explanation, but I suspect that recent growth of anointed is a clue into the mental health of the membership. As the religion worsens, the smart and mentally salvageable leave, while the depressed, the pessimistic, the misfits of society, and the mentally unstable stay, or even convert into the religion.

  there doing this right under my nose but i just found out.

  not sure what to do but would like your help on getting me wt information on my headship role and how they shouldn't be doing this with out my permission.

  also would like some help on showing my son the ramifications on what happens to someone when they get baptized and how they'll expect him to treat me.

  Smart son you have. You must be proud. He detected the BS at a tender age and acted with integrity despite the immense pressures of a cult. Just in time to enjoy life to the fullest as an independent adult with his own goals and desires, not those of an American corporation

  I am quite ambivalent about this liberal stance on freedom of religion. Sounds great and in practice has worked great, but it is time for some fine tuning. It should come with some restrictions that protect children's and women's rights, as well as prevent psychological abuse. So, freedom of religion is fine; worship Satan if you want. But no tax exemptions if you abuse, manipulate and psychologically abuse the individual. No shunning, no distinction between genders in terms of privileges and positions of authority, no discouraging higher education, no denying life saving medical procedures.If you refuse, you can freely practice your crazy and cruel religion, but you pay every penny of tax we can think of.
  

  It's a tough course of action, but one that may have greater benefits than costs.
